昭和の時代、能力があっても家庭に縛られた女性がたくさんいたように、今は子育てや親・家族の介護で、第一線から離れざるを得ない人がたくさんいます。積み上げてきたものを諦めずに、世の中の役に立てること。お互いに助け合い、最後は日本を助ける会社になりたいと考えています。Just as many capable women were once tied to the home, today many people must step back from the front line to raise children or care for family. We want to help them put what they’ve built to use instead of giving it up — helping one another, and in the end, helping Japan.

Our story

ヨウムが生まれるまでHow Youmu came to be

工場で製造業の現場で、同じ恐怖に出会う日本・ルクセンブルク・アメリカの工場を渡り歩く中で、3D CAD の端末の前で固まる 50 代のベテランに何度も出会いました。「俺の 30 年は何だったんだ」。Moving between factories in Japan, Luxembourg and the US, we kept meeting veteran engineers in their 50s frozen in front of a 3D CAD terminal. “What were my 30 years for?”
2010アメリカで、妻が脳出血で倒れる右半身麻痺、失語症、脳卒中後疼痛。家族で妻の実家がある大分県へ帰国し、両親の近くでリハビリを続けることを選びました。In the US, our CEO’s wife suffered a brain hemorrhage — right-side paralysis, aphasia and post-stroke pain. The family returned to her hometown in Oita to continue rehabilitation near her parents.
2010–202515 年間、リハビリの隣で妻は毎日リハビリを続け、倉持は仕事をしながらその隣にいました。「続けることが最強の技術。隣に誰かがいれば前に進める」という確信を得ます。その恐怖は、工場のベテランが感じていた恐怖と同じ形をしていました。For 15 years she kept up daily rehabilitation, and he stayed beside her while working. The lesson: persistence is the strongest skill, and with someone beside you, you can move forward. Her fear had the same shape as the veterans’ fear on the factory floor.
2023ヨウム株式会社を創業助け合わなければ生きていけなかった人間たちが集まり、「仲間を助ける」を事業にしました。People who couldn’t have survived without helping each other came together and made “helping your companions” a business.
2026日本に最適化したグローバル LMS へInstructure のディストリビューターとして、日本の大学に合わせた Canvas LMS SaaS の提供を始めました。As Instructure’s distributor, we began delivering Canvas LMS SaaS fitted to Japanese universities.

倉持智明Tomoaki KuramochiCEO · 代表取締役

大手メーカーの機械系技術者として欧州 10 年を含む 17 年、コンサルタントとして北米 5 年。外から日本を見た経験が意識を変えました。製造現場管理、生産技術、機械設計、生産管理、マーケティング、海外営業、動画・アニメーション制作、教育コンテンツの企画・制作を経験。妻の障害を支えながら、製造業の人材育成と LMS の世界へ。ナポリピッツァ、チーズ、寿司の職人の顔も持ちます。17 years as a mechanical engineer at a major manufacturer, including 10 in Europe, then 5 as a consultant in North America. Experience spans plant management, production engineering, machine design, marketing, overseas sales, video and animation, and learning content. He entered manufacturing training and the LMS world while supporting his wife through her disability. Also a Neapolitan pizza, cheese and sushi craftsman.

2 児の母、TOEIC 985 点。米国・英国での生活を経て、子育てをしながら機械メーカーの海外営業部門で活躍。「誰も助けてくれなくても、学ぶことは自分を裏切らない」を体現しています。LMS サポート、LTI 連携・API 連携、海外サプライヤーとの窓口、教育コンテンツの企画・制作を担当。Mother of two, TOEIC 985. After living in the US and UK, she worked in overseas sales at a machinery maker while raising her children. She lives by “even if no one helps you, learning never betrays you.” She leads LMS support, LTI and API integration, overseas supplier relations and learning content.

Why “Youmu”?

変な社名です。Yes, it's an unusual name.

Grey Parrotヨウム

ヨウムは、アフリカ西海岸に暮らす大型インコ Grey Parrot の和名です。見返りを求めずに仲間を助ける行動が確認された鳥です。Youmu is the Japanese name for the grey parrot of West Africa — a bird observed helping its companions with no reward in return.

「痛みの経験者による、痛みを抱えた人のための会社」。その思いを社名に込めました。“A company by people who have known pain, for people carrying it.” That is what the name holds.
